 Memory I, Collages is a project of collaged works addressing destruction within the home. The collages utilize paintings salvaged from Hurricane Sandy, which were previously damaged in 9/11 at del Rivero’s studio home located at 125 Cedar Street fac

Memory I, Collages is a project of collaged works addressing destruction within the home. The collages utilize paintings salvaged from Hurricane Sandy, which were previously damaged in 9/11 at del Rivero’s studio home located at 125 Cedar Street facing Tower South on Liberty and Greenwich streets.

The paintings have been cleaned, cut and collaged with thread, silver leaf and discarded pieces of primed canvas and linen onto museum board in the spirit of mending. 136 collaged work have been produced with remnants destroyed works between 2014-2020.

This event influenced her last collages and it also moved her to photograph some of the collages early morning in Soho, against the graffiti she would encounter in the streets.
